Research Interests: Arab-American histories; social movements; Afro-Arab trajectories; comparative slaveries; Orientalism; race and whiteness; language and identity; diasporic formations; political conservatism; post-modern youth studies; community based youth-led programming and education; liberation pedagogies; acculturation and family conflicts; theatre/poetry/arts for social change; digital storytelling and critical media literacies; podcasting; dabke, dance, and folkloric tradition making
