Bio

Angel Trazo is a PhD student in Cultural Studies at UC Davis. Her current research is focused on Asian American youth culture, specifically the Asian Baby Girl (ABG) subculture. Her scholarship has been published in journals such as Intersections: Critical Issues in Education and Amerasia Journal and edited volumes including Global Perspectives on Microaggressions in Higher Education and Asian American Literature: An Encyclopedia for Students. 

At the Bulosan Center for Filipino Studies, Angel is the Communications Student Manager and the Layout Designer of Alon: Journal for Filipinx American and Diasporic Studies. Angel loves to share ethnic studies stories through artwork such as her children's books We Are Inspiring: The Stories of 32 Asian American Women (2019) and Vanessa Unmuted (2021). Her comics and "visual notetaking" sketches have been featured in academic journals such as ASAP Journal and Modern Language Studies.
